"Guidelines for Sustainable Natural Rubber," is released and two experts from SynTao are honored

On January 26, 2018, the "Guidelines for Sustainable Natural Rubber" (referred to as the "Guidelines") was officially released at the "Conference on Sustainability of Natural Rubber Seminars and Project Achievements" sponsored by China Chamber of Commerce Metal Minerals& Chemicals Importers & Exporters（CCCMC）. Nearly 100 representatives from domestic and foreign government agencies, upstream and downstream companies in the rubber supply chain, non-governmental organizations, industry associations, and academia shared the project results and discussed the future development of the project. Guo Peiyuan and Zhang Hongfu from SynTao have been deeply involved as experts since the beginning of the project and have been commended at the press.

 

 

The meeting was chaired by Vice President Liu Zhonghui of the CCCMC. Mr. Chen Feng, President of the CCCMC, and Ross Ferguson, Deputy Director of the UK Department for International Development, China, delivered the opening remarks.

The director of CCCMC Sun Lihui made an overall report on the project results, and detailed the next five-year plan to promote the implementation of the “Guidelines,” He proposed to establish a natural rubber platform which plantation, trade, processing, tire manufacturers, and auto manufacturers, etc. all participate in and promotes positive changes and continuous improvement in the industry.

 

The meeting issued a certificate to the experts and teams who contributed to the project. The award-winning experts were from the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences, the Kunming Institute of Botany the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the China National Textile and Apparel Council, SynTao, Beijing Rongzhi Corporate Social Responsibility Institute, the University of International Business and Economics, Global Witness, Natural Rubber Association, Shanghai Futures Exchange , Proforest, Lindsey International Limited.

 

 

Several experts gave speeches on CSR and sustainable development. And all of them were glad to see that the government, industry associations, non-governmental organizations, research institutions, and enterprises cooperate together for the sustainable development.

 

 

The successful convening of the seminar and project outcome conference was the perfect ending of China's international rubber investment and trade sustainable development project. It also marked the beginning of the practical application of the “Guide” and other projects. The meeting promoted communication among the government， industry associations, non-governmental organizations, research institutions, and enterprises and also called the consensus of cooperation and injected a powerful impetus for the sustainable development of natural rubber.
